I hope that you enjoyed your summer, albeit with the restrictions of Coronavirus. We are fortunate to have been able to welcome many clients on the island as soon as St. Barth reopened its borders on June 22, 2020 and we are looking forward to welcoming you to paradise.
If you are anxious to be on the island soon, I am very excited to announce that the seventh annual St. Barth’s Gourmet Festival is taking place November 11-15, 2020. It was so successful last year that the venues sold out quickly, so I encourage you to contact [email protected] so that we can assist you in securing the perfect accommodation for your stay. Once you have made your choice of a private villa or preferred hotel, our concierges can make your reservations for you, as soon as we have the menus. If you do not care about the menus and want to experience a delicious evening at one or more of the venues, we can make the reservations more quickly.
Once again, this year’s festival featured chefs include some of France’s very best culinary talent. The award-winning chefs will prepare delectable tasting menus and cook them alongside the very gifted chefs and sous-chefs at some of the island’s wonderful restaurants and hotels. St. Barth is renowned for having the best culinary cuisine in the Caribbean, so its annual Gourmet Festival enhances the dining experience we all have to come to love on each and every St. Barth vacation.
As I explained to you in my blog last year, a Michelin star is the most coveted award that any chef aspires to achieve. Although a Michelin star is awarded to the restaurant itself, the credit for it goes to the chef in charge of the kitchen.

This year, Chef Pierre Gagnaire has been named patron of the festival and will deliver the opening remarks as well as serve as president of the jury for select events. The Chefs’ dinners are being held at various hotels and restaurants.

Each evening, the chef will prepare a four-course tasting menu at a fixed price of 95 euros per person and an eight-course tasting menu at a fixed price of 130 euros per person. In addition to the Chefs’ dinners, the festival will include fun activities to celebrate the many facets of French gastronomy

6pm: “The Café Waiters’ Race” by Enjoy St Barth from Quarter Kitchen & Cocktail Lab, Rue du Général de Gaulle in Gustavia.
7pm: Chefs’ Dinners at the Festival Partners’ Hotels & Restaurants
7:30pm: “St-Barth Bartender Contest” by Glenlivet Caribbean cask at Quarter Kitchen & Cocktail Lab, Gustavia. (open to the public).

9am: Amateurs Pastry Competition “Grandes toques St Barth”, square of the Collectivity Gustavia. President of the jury: Chef Sébastien Vauxion, the jury: Chef Dimitri Droisneau. (open to the public).
10am: Amateurs Pastry Competition “Petites toques St Barth”, square of the Collectivity Gustavia. President of the jury: Chef Cédric Grolet, the jury: Chef Juan Arbelaez. (Open to the public).
12pm-1pm: Awards Ceremony 2020, square of the Collectivity Gustavia.

For rum lovers, the 3rd annual Caribbean Rum awards will also take place during this period. Quarter Kitchen and Cocktail Lab in Gustavia has a fabulous rum room and is participating in the event per the schedule I listed above.
