The BIG news is strictly for clients of St. Barth Properties, FIVE-STAR BEACH ACCESS! We have collaborated with the 5 Star Manapany hotel on the coral beach of Anse des Cayes so that you can have breakfast and/or lunch under the palm trees or in their waterfront restaurant and enjoy a day at the beach or sitting by their pool. Don’t have time for a beach day? You can still have lunch or dinner at the hotel and receive a complimentary apéritif when doing so. The only requirement is that you call our concierge, Laura Commaret, who will be pleased to make the reservations for you and identify you as a client of SBP. This St. Barth Properties’ perk is available from the day the hotel reopens November 04, 2019 until Its annual closure towards the end of August 2020. You will receive a personalized VIP card to use when you arrive on St. Barth. Read all about it here.
What else is new?
Presently, it is the quietest time of the year in St. Barth. Almost every hotel, restaurant, and boutique are closed. This is France, after all. Employees get 5-6 weeks’ vacation time the minute you hire them, so September and part of October is the time to do it. Everyone worked hard over the year and needs to relax before gearing up for the new “Season.” That does not mean that no one is on St. Barth. People with children are back because school started the beginning of September. My offices on Gustavia harbor are open, while our staff staggers their vacations so that we can take care of you and assist our US office with requests. We are taking advantage of this time to refresh the offices with new paint and rearranging the space in our St. Barth Properties Sotheby’s International Realty sales office.
The Collectivité is not idle, either. In fact, the island takes advantage of quieter times to make improvements. If you were vacationing in St. Barth over the last 2 years, you noticed that they were working on the roads. The main goal is to put underground wiring in hopes of fewer power outages and to add water lines. They have also added a new “roundabout.” in Lorient so that traffic can flow better for those who like to shop in the Oasis Center.
There is a new parking area in Toiny which means surfers do not have to park on the side of the road. The new sidewalk helps walkers and joggers exercise safely. Guests staying our nearby villas can walk to hotel Le Toiny hotel’s Beach Club for lunch, too.
I have another tidbit that I am only sharing with my blog devotees. You should keep it as a secret, if you want to find a parking space in Gustavia, that is. The Collectivité created a very small parking lot on the little street where the catholic church is located. Judging by this photo, I think the secret is out, but you might get lucky.
