The tradeshow in Sao Paulo was a great success. I met so many travel agents whose clients had fallen in love with St. Barts and wanted to come back with the family and rent a villa. Pascale Minarro, the Directrice at my St. Barth office, was with me and we had 20 minute appointments with very qualified agents from Latin America.
It was kind of grueling, taking red-eyes both ways and full days and evenings so I had little rest but I was really looking forward to meeting my daughter Kim and grandson Matt along with his friend Andrew and my husband Steve (he took 2 huge suitcases home to our house in Cape Cod while i was in Brazil). We met in Miami and continued on to St. Barts.
I had booked Villa Grand Galet for the 5 of us and it was the perfect choice. We were close to everything and the view from there… OMG – look straight ahead and see Saba, Statia and St. Kitts; look down and see Shell Beach; look right and see Gustavia harbor with St. Maarten in the distance. Did I mention the spectacular sunsets? …Every single night- always unique depending on the horizon. There are 2 king en suite bedrooms on the pool level; the boys slept in the twin bedroom on the lower level so this villa is great for couples as well as families. We went to the beaches, did a half day snorkeling trip with Bosco Yacht that included Saline, Colombier and La Forchue island, dined at the restaurants, went to our Tuesday night cocktail party at Bonito and had a night out at Le Ti St. Barth for the wildest evening ever! I kid you not – in all the times I have been there I have never seen so many people get into the scene. Everyone was dancing on the floor and on the tables. One enthusiastic partier jumped up on our table which was still covered with lots of glasses. We had all we could do to keep them from breaking.
I tried to cut back on work so that I could spend time with them but I did inspect a great 3 bedroom villa in Colombier and we have added it to our portfolio. For those of you who know St. Bart it is located just before the bakery La Petit Colombe. The aroma of the freshly baked baguettes wafts towards the villa which I have aptly named Villa La Colombe and when you walk there and then bring the pastries back for petit déjeuner, they will still be warm. Book this one if you want a gorgeous view, contemporary decor and a great pool that even features a counter-current machine so they you can work off those calories that came with the chocolate croissants.
