Hi Mindy, Yes it was so sad to see Pierre go and so suddenly. But you have your daughter to keep him in your heart. We have been to Pipiri several times since; Pierrot’s wife Regine is running the show and enjoying it. It is still delicious and fun. I hope to have dinner with you there one day. My best to you- Peg

My husband and I visited st Bart’s on our honeymoon in 2005. We were warmly welcomed by Pierre to Pipiri’s Palace for two joyous occasions. In fact the restaurant made such an impact on us that we named our daughter Pipiri in 2010.
Pierre was so sweet when I mailed him photos of Pipiri and he sent us a lovely care package for her.

My heart is broken tonight! My sweet Pipiri will never meet her namesake.
God bless!

The Palace is one of our favorite spots in St Barths and we always looked forward to Pierre’s greeting and welcoming smile. It was very evident just how much he loved this culinary gem – and also his family who were always on hand as well. We send our sympathy to his family – he will be missed by many. Thank you for including these lovely photos of the service honoring this true gentleman.

He was such a genial host. On our first visit to Pipiri Palace, he took time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. Whenever we saw him either in the restaurant or anywhere else on the island, he would stop and chat. He embodied the spirit of the island and he will be sorely missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
